Shortly after getting into medium format film, I went on a bit of a shopping spree on eBay and purchased a BUNCH of expired film. A mix of Black and White as well as Color. Expiration dates ranging from a couple of years ago to back in the 80’s. After shooting roughly 25 rolls over the last few months, it has helped me rediscover the fun in photography. It’s no longer about the best quality. You have to learn to embrace the unknown and imperfections. While some of the rolls turn out great, some of them either barely turn out an image or have strange qualities to them like extra grain or color fades/shifts. There are still around 50ish rolls of expired film in my freezer so stay tuned for new updates in the misadventures of expired film. Enjoy.
